A Structured Path to College Success

I’ve developed a five-phase process to guide students and families seamlessly through the college application journey. Each phase is designed to build a strong foundation for success, ensuring that students are not only prepared but also confident in their decisions.

Phase 1: Student Inquiry

Our journey begins with an introductory meeting where I take the time to get to know the student and their family. We discuss academic records, college preferences, and personal aspirations. By understanding what matters most to the student, I can tailor the entire process to align with their unique goals and priorities.

Phase 2: Developing an Action Plan

With insights from our initial discussions, I work closely with the student to craft a customized action plan. This plan includes a detailed timeline, strategies for academic and extracurricular engagement, and a roadmap for achieving college-related goals. We’ll also identify key milestones and ensure the student stays organized and motivated throughout the process.

Phase 3: Building a College List

In this phase, I take a deep dive into the student’s academic interests, career aspirations, and personal preferences. Using these insights, I research colleges and curate a personalized list of schools that are a good fit academically, socially, and financially. We’ll collaboratively refine the list to ensure it represents a balanced mix of reach, match, and likely schools.

Phase 4: Writing Essays and Applications

Once we’ve narrowed down the college list, we focus on completing applications. I guide students in crafting compelling essays and personal statements that showcase their strengths, passions, and unique qualities. I also help with navigating application platforms, preparing for interviews, and creating polished resumes that reflect the student’s achievements and potential.

Phase 5: Financial Aid and Scholarships

The final phase of the process involves exploring scholarship opportunities and navigating financial aid. I assist with completing forms like FAFSA and CSS Profile, and work with families to maximize funding options. We’ll also review scholarship essay drafts and ensure that students are well-prepared to submit applications for external scholarships.
